The Club
Founded in 1858 by a small band of enthusiastic oarsmen, the Club moved from the Strand to Khidderpore and then, in 1923, to Dhakuria, and has carried its colours through the Merchants Cup, the Hooghly Cup and the Head of the Lake. It remains a working boathouse first, and a place of dining, ceremony and long friendships second.
